What makes it Great?

Why it doesn't work?

The total area of the park is 858 acre and the two huge man-made mountains are 109 yard high from the sea level. Based on an ecological approach, five unique theme parks were created in 2002: Pyunghwa (Peace) Park, Haneul (Sky) Park, Noel (Sunset) Park, Nanjicheon Park, and Hangang Riverside Park.

Access & Linkages

You can easily access by bus, subway, or car and enter the Pyunghwa (Peace) Park at the World Cup Stadium station. The Pyunghwa Park is the prominent space of World Cup Park. It has Pyunghwa garden, Forest of Hope, a pavilion as well as UNICEF plaza, and Nanji Lake. The name of the Haneul (Sky) Park follows its geological status. It is the nearest place to the sky in the World Cup Park. It is now covered with various grass especially reed grass and electricity is produced by the five windmills. The Noel (Sunset) Park focuses on dynamic activities rather than passive ones. It is consisted of 9-hole public golf course and walking trails. The Hangang Riverside Park is the area where Nanjido and Hangang River meet. It has five different districts: the main plaza district with the multipurpose grassland, picnic areas, a childrenÍs playground, and a small fitness trail. The main plaza is connected to the Pyunghwa Park by a path. The Nanjicheon Park is created for the residents living near the stream. There are childrenÍs playgrounds, a multipurpose plaza, a soccer playground, and an open theatre where all handicap accessible. Dynamic activities such as inline skating and bicycling are also possible along the stream.

Comfort & Image

If you walk on the stairway from the Pyunghwa Park to Haneul Park, you can see the beautiful scenery around the World Cup Park. It is an amazing experience to all of you. The equipments such as seating, pavilion, and restrooms are available. Park rangers and volunteers are maintaining the Park regularly and no vehicles are available in the park without permission.

Uses & Activities

About 10 million people visit the park in a year and during the reed grass festival in October, there are numerous people in the park. The park has many environmental and ecological programs for kids, teens and adults, and has many events such as rock music, painting exhibitions, and sports programs around the year.
