Progress Plus: Progress Plus has been awarded two major incentives. The first - state tax credits - provides a 50 percent tax credit to donors, while the second - a challenge grant - stretches your gift with an additional 50 cents for every dollar contributed. Here's how it works:Credit to you- The Missouri Development Finance Board Tax Credits.
For a gift of $100,000 or more to Progress Plus, you will receive 50 percent of the total donation in state tax credits. Donors utilizing tax credits along with standard deductions are able to substantially decrease the cost of their gift, generally to 28 cents for every dollar donated.
The Danforth Foundation challenge is an effort to seek out and provide the opportunity for new corporate donors to support our historic efforts.
Specifically, the challenge requires that Forest Park Forever raise $10 million from St. Louis companies for Park renovations by December 2000.
Gifts from Civic Progress member companies, which have a separate $20 million goal, do not qualify for this challenge.
The Danforth Foundation will provide 50 cents for every dollar raised, up to a maximum additional contribution of $5 million. The result is progress for the Park and for St. Louis.
Contributors to Progress Plus will be recognized in a number of ways. Forest Park Forever will work with you to define the terms of your gift and to ensure permanent recognition of your role in restoring Forest Park.
