A 15 acre park with amusement rides, breathtaking gardens, free ballet, classical and pantomime performances, rock concerts every Friday night of the summer, and a very wide array of restaurants. Family friendly, affordable admission.
Tivoli is in the heart of Copenhagen, yet entering its gates provides an escape from the commercial, densely packed city and all of the cars on surrounding streets. Easily accessible by train, bus, bicycle, or on foot.
This is a very safe area, with lots of security, and people of all ages. Cars are not allowed, litter is picked up quickly and recycling facilities are available.
Seniors and parents pushing prams stroll the area, teens go there on first dates, thrill seekers ride roller coasters and shoppers and diners have much to choose from. At least one-quarter of the total park area is reserved for beautiful gardens.
People are happy; many come on lunch hour from downtown offices just for a stroll or lunch and many others come directly after work for a beer and late afternoon sunshine. In the evenings, 115,000 light bulbs illuminate the park. 75 percent of the visitors are Danes, yet this is Copenhagen's number one tourist attraction and nine out of ten tourists come here.
