What makes it Great?

Why it doesn't work?

Sound Garden is an urban listening place - to listen to the surrounding environment as well as to each other. It features a Japanese suikinkutsu (water harp) that has such subtle sound to make us stop and listen. The garden path incorporates the traditional owner's dreaming - freshwater eel, so it is also a multicultural place that allows us listen to historic voices and stories.

Access & Linkages

The Garden is now a ceremonial place where many celebrations and gatherings take place.

Comfort & Image

The Garden welcomes and embraces diverse cultures, interests and needs. Primarily it let visitors sit quietly and listen - to find a solace in busy urban area.

Uses & Activities

The Garden is suited to all age and interests, who are all fascinated with the concept and sounds. It has disability access.

Sociability

Both locals and tourists visit the Garden. It is used for special ceremonies (eg wedding, naming), performances, concept, poetry readings.
