One of the most magical places in Poland. You can spend a whole day here - sitting on a bench in the square, enjoying a the unique atmosphere of Gothic architecture, watching the comings and goings of impressed tourists and locals.
The Old Town Square is the crossroads of the city, with pedestrian links to the nearby main shopping street [Szeroka St.], churches and The University of Nicolaus Copernicus. The Old Town Square is accessible only by foot.
The first impression of this place is unforgettable. Lots of people walking, or rushing to their business as this is a centre for everyone. The numerous young people gravitating to Torun sit on the edges of a Copernicus' monument while tourists head for a the stalls selling local souvenirs.
The Old Town Square never sleeps. It is vital all of the day, mostly because of numerous cafes and restaurants located in surrounding buildings.
This space is very popular among locals, and tourists.The Copernicus' monument, located in the heart of The Old Town Square is a basic meeting point for groups of people.
