The Hollywood Beach Broadwalk is an attractive pedestrian walkway along Hollywood Beach. It is approximately 20+ blocks long. Visitors and residents are able to walk on the broadwalk and enjoy the beach, beach side restaurants, shops, parks, and the live music and entertainment at the Johnson Street outdoor ampitheartre. There are various seating arrangements available along the broadwalk which enhances the comfort factor. There is also a bikelane on the broadwalk which attracts cyclists regionwide. Pedestrian activity is notable from dawn until the late evening hours. It is truly a pedestrian oasis.
The Hollywood Beach Broadwalk is accessible by auto, public transit, bike, and by foot. There are many residential dwellings along side in addition to hotels. The broadwalk extends throughout the entirety of Hollywood Beach and connects to existing pedestrian and bicycle facilities from neighboring municipalities.
This is a family destination. There is an equal proportion between gender and age. The broadwalk was recently renovated in 2007. It is regulary maintained and feels like a first class pedestrian establishment.
There are numerous activities available for everyone. Visitors and residents are able to use their bicycle or rent bicycles from the numerous rental shops along side the broadwalk. The City provides free concerts at the outdoor ampitheartre at least three times a week. There are many parks for adults and children, public restrooms, and various seating arrangements.
Visitors are often awe struck by the beauty of the pedestrian walkway. This is a local and tourist destination. Yes, the locals are proud of the beach improvements they have helped to create through years of public input and development.
The Hollywood Beach Broadwalk is South Florida's shining example of fullfilling the old saying "when you build it, they will come."
