Urban Park \nURLS:\n

What makes it Great?

Why it doesn't work?

Discovery Green is 12 acre urban park that is really the only such amenity in downtown Houston. It is right on the edge of high-rise downtown and offers Houston residents (and visitors) a place to enjoy spacious lawns perfect for picnics, children's features or performances.

Access & Linkages

Located in downtown Houston across Avenida de las Americas from the George R. Brown Convention Center and the Hilton Americas Hotel. Toyota Center, Houston Center, Minute Maid Park and Houston Pavilions are only blocks away.

Comfort & Image

According to Discovery Green Conservancy, the management responsible for the entire space, "Children and their families are the heart of Discovery Green. Discovery Green works with HPL Express, the cityÍs innovative new library service for the internet age, to design programming specifically for families."

Uses & Activities

Water features, lawns, stages, boat basin, ice skating, restaurants, picnics, jogging trails, farmers market, performances, events, playgrounds, reading room, much more

Sociability

From families to office workers, Discovery Green is a fantastic destination in the heart of downtown Houston.
