How to Turn a Place Around Training is a two day training course that introduces new ways to think about how Placemaking can be used to bring together communities. The course will also provide practical skills and inspirations for people who want to improve the public environment in their city, town or neighborhood.
Key issues that will be disucssed in the “How to Turn a Place Around” training include: strategies to best implement the Placemaking process, how to evaluate a place, how to translate that into a place-based vision, and how to use concepts like the Power of 10 and Triangulation to revitalize a public space, neighborhood, city or region.
This training will explore best practices around improving your public spaces and how we can continue to build a Placemaking Campaign. The training will include an interactive PlaceGame Workshop and will cover topics such as:
- What is Placemaking and How to Use it in Your Work
- Engaging the Community
- Lighter, Quicker, Cheaper
- Agendas for Transforming Cities
- Streets as Places
- Tools for Assessing Public Spaces: Do Try this at Home
- Creating the City of the Future
- Building & Sustaining a Campaign for theCity of the Future
