Norm Cox is a licensed landscape architect and founded The Greenway Collaborative, Inc. in 1993. Since that time his career has focused on greenways, complete streets and sustainable design and has resulted in his recognition as both a pioneer and a knowledge leader in those fields. Norm has worked on bicycle and pedestrian plans for numerous cities, townships, counties, regions and universities throughout Michigan and Ohio. He is known for crafting innovative approaches that incorporate engaging public input. Maaza Mekuria is principal of Axum Design and Engineering as well as an adjunct professor at Evergreen College in San Jose. A registered Professional Engineer and a Professional Traffic Operations Engineer, he is a specialist in GIS applications in transportation planning. He holds a PhD in Transportation Engineering from Northeastern University, and has collaborated with Dr. Furth in developing new ways of modeling bus passengers' walk access to bus stops, as well as mapping and analyzing bicycling networks accounting for rider's intolerance for traffic stress.
