Placemaking in Mississauga

Mississauga, Ontario, CAN (2005 - 2006). In June, 2005, PPS led training workshops and presentations for over 200 City of Mississauga staff from all departments, including politicians and senior management. Now, Mississauga is moving forward with plans to redevelop two City Centre squares and develop a new downtown park, based on the principles of Placemaking.

The Czech Republic: Creating a National Placemaking Program

The Czech Republic (1993- 1996). PPS directed a series of demonstration projects in the Czech Republic. In 1996, the program was taken over by the Czech Environmental Partnership Foundation in Brno, and became the Partnership for Public Spaces. Currently, the Partnership's capacity to do Placemaking and lead public workshops has expanded enormously.
