In June, 2005, PPS led training workshops and presentations for over 200 City of Mississauga staff from all departments, including politicians and senior management. Now, Mississauga is moving forward with plans to redevelop two City Centre squares and develop a new downtown park, based on the principles of Placemaking.

Congress Street Master Plan

Tucson, Arizona (2004-2005). Congress Street used to be the Main Street of Tucson, with a remarkable variety of large and small shops, theaters, music, and Tucson's first skyscraper. PPS was part of a team hired by the City of Tucson to create a master plan and revitalization strategy for Congress Street.

Arvada, CO (1999-2003). In 1998 the Arvada Urban Redevelopment Authority in Arvada, Colorado, asked PPS to join a team participating in a downtown renewal project known as "Arvada Renaissance." In 2002, PPS was asked to follow up on its earlier recommendations to initiate concepts for gateways into the Olde Town from I-70.

Clinton Square

Syracuse, NY (1999-2000). PPS worked with the City of Syracuse to develop a plan to bring vitality back to downtown Syracuse. The opening of Clinton Square in September 2001 was met with rave reviews and the square is currently a spectacular civic plaza for festivals, farmers' markets, concerts and ice skating.

Vassar College, Arlington District: A Revitalization Plan

Poughkeepsie, NY (1999-2000). PPS conducted a study of the Arlington Business District at the request of Vassar College and the Arlington Steering Committee. The process included a parking study, town meetings, a traffic analysis of Raymond Avenue, an economic analysis, and numerous presentations to the Steering Committee and other area stakeholders.
