Client: Esperanza Community Housing Corporation
The Esperanza Community Housing Corporation in South Central Los Angeles asked PMC to prepare a pre-development plan for an industrial building to be converted into a mercado. After an analysis of the market’s location and the goals of the sponsor, the Collaborative recommended a mixed-used concept with wholesale/retail food businesses, a craft center, community meeting and activity rooms, as well as a mercado. A preliminary business and start-up plan for the project was also developed.
