Hemisfair Park, Street Decorations Year Around on Commerce

My idea to improve this place

Bring more shops and restaurants to the downtown area. There are too many empty buildings. Have downtown streets with decor like New Braunfels, TX. More kid friendly places, utilize Hemifair Park.

So that people could... 

see city spirit. Streets should have banners of the Spurs, amusement parks, missions, botanical gardens, zoo, things to do in San Antonio. Sell our entire city downtown. As tourists come to our Riverwalk they should not have to ask what they can do here. It should be advertised everywhere. Give special tourists discount tickets. Business may lose a little up front, but will have tourists coming back a lot more frequently.

Because I want San Antonio to be...

a year around Fiesta. The city needs to always show spirit. If not we will become like downtown Corpus Christi. Spice up the streets, not just the riverwalk. Banners of things to do on the light posts.

River Center Mall must be urged to redevelop the old Dillard. It sits in the center of downtown's visitor area--between the mall, Alamo and river walk--and is uninviting for the city's guests.

Create a solar generating array downtown by re-roofing all existing and new bus shelters solar. Equip the bus shelters with solar-powered lights, fans, misters and audio alerts of approaching buses.
