My idea to improve this place

Don't approve anymore new hotels downtown until there is a significant jump in the amount of people that live downtown.

So that people could... 

have an opportunity to live downtown and put REAL authenticity back in the center city.

Because I want San Antonio to be...

A place for San Antonians and not a place that residents avoid because of all the tourists.

I lvoe this idea. I live downtown and have lived in SA all my life. However, I feel like a tourist in my own city when i take my dog for a walk. Tourists downtown are great, but like this idea says, add some more authenticity to the downtown area

For every new hotel room built downtown we should built 2 residential units. Downtown risks becoming an irrelevent tourist playground rather than a vibrant city core with residents.

street cleaning and maintenance on downtown and surrounding city streets should be done mainly at night when there is less vehicle and pedestrian traffic.

Bring life to Travis Park by filling it with public art, a more vibrant variety of landscaping, and approved vendors (flowers, snowcones, musicians, etc.). Also maybe clean up bus stop on park corner.
