My idea to improve this place

Host bi-monthly "mash-ups", which are improvisational artistic evenings, 3-hours in length, where regular folks can come and experience a slue of artistic activity, coming and going as they please.

So that people could... 

co-create work with talented actors, musicians and writers in the community. Folks can witness, participate, and socialize in an artistic context.

Because I want San Antonio to be...

artistically healthy and open to amateur as well as professional creativity on a regular basis.

Start to build traffic to Tobin Center before 2014 so neighborhood is active enough by 2014 to attract lots of residents downtown. Do this by scheduling free outdoor concerts in front of the building.

great Streets. Improve streetscapes in the central core so that streets have hierarchy and uses (pedestrian dominate, bike dominant etc.) All streets should have a design with street trees etc.

Do something to control the amount of homeless people and travelers hanging out in parks and other areas. It makes me scared to be in some areas of downtown.

Whole Plaza to climate controlled covered event/cafe area-soft live music and events. Water fountains. Restaurants medium priced. Neon-colorful lighting. Close Alamo St between Crockett and E Houston.
