Where

all street intersection islands like the island on the west side of San Pedro at Oblate. It is so stark, patched, unattractive for locals and tourists.

My idea to improve this place

is to begin a tree planting and pavers laying campaign for ALL unattractive corners in SA so that we could inspire a PRIDE OF OWNERSHIP for locals. We now have good ideas on trees that can survive.

So that people could... 

feel a pride of ownership and have SA citizens all be a part of making our city beautiful like other tourist cities people want to RETURN to. As international vacationers, we see beautiful, clean cities that are waaaay larger than SA and almost as hot, too. How do they do it?

Because I want San Antonio to be...

NOT remembered as only having oven-like temperature with dirty streets. Trees and greenery have been measurably proven to lower a city's temps by several degrees. Let's get a tree planting program going with a lot of publicity like Los Angeles did.

is to build a rope and wood suspension foot bridge that leads to the Quarry Market to connect these areas of town that is currently dangerous to access by cycling and walking.

Corner of Basse and McCullough ties 78209 with 78212 is both on the bus route and the bike route but there is no currently no safe way to cross 281 for pedestrians and bike traffic., 0.78 Kms

Bring back in modern form the historic Bat Roosts that I remember seeing in the Olmos Basin when I was a kid. Dr. Campbell's bat roosts could be restored in open spaces across SA.

Olmos Basin Park, On Jackson Keller between McCullough and San Pedro, either adjacent the Farmers Market site or across Jackson Keller, 0.85 Kms

Create a paved bike/walking trail through the basin area and improve the park on Devine road.

Olmos dam basin, 1.95 Kms

Many people walk along this area for exercise. This idea would include signage telling motorists to watch for pedestrians, and enhanced crossings at busy streets. Distance markers are also required.

There is a storm drain that runs along the Dellview neighborhood, which is between West Ave. & Vance Jackson. The actual street is Wonder Parkway., 1.97 Kms
