My idea to improve this place

This under-utilized city icon should be used to serve as a public land (and water)to the residents and visitors of San Antonio. I propose the area of the land and water to be used as a city pool/park.

So that people could... 

Take off their clothes, specially their shoes. People can fly kites, read books, sun tan, play soccer or volleyball, or simply Float on The River! The main attraction of the idea is to open a portion of the river to allow kids and adults to swim and play IN the river.

Because I want San Antonio to be...

DT San Antonio needs to provide it's residents an opportunity in the area for a more active recreational activity. The freedom that comes with a public city cool would validate the needs of all the San Antonians who currently do not have the chance to actually experience their would famous river! Let's call this idea "TOUCH THE RIVER!"

I think it would be excellent if someone would build portable water/snack stations around the hike and bike trails. In Austin, the Parks and Rec dept. puts out coolers of water for runners/cyclists.

The hike and bike trails around the new reaches of the San Antonio River... i.e. where Blue Star is that leads to the new paths around the river, 0.06 Kms

Our idea to improve this place is KITE FLYING. Kite flying is a sport, art, recreation, fun and social activity. It is for everyone; all ages, genders, cultures, social or economic layers of SATX.

The idea can be applied at different locations of SATX. It especially enriches the Riverwalk Improvement Project. We choose East bank of BlueStar Arts Complex towards the mission trail as a starter., 0.1 Kms
