My idea to improve this place

plant some of the lawn on the Donaldson curve with low-water fruit and vegetables to encourage eating fresh food by the students in this economically challenged neighborhood

So that people could... 

engage in the joy of gardening and establish healthier eating habits for life.

Because I want San Antonio to be...

proud of Jefferson High School, and see the student body in a more positive context.

Jefferson High School, 0 Kms

Start w/low cost walking trail w/concrete squares along trail for "chalk art". Later add community garden and zero scape plants to replace weeds, then water collection system, end with walking bridge.

The natural looking dry creek/green space, lined with trees, that channels water during heavy rains. The area runs parallel to Overbroook Dr in between Babcock Rd & Balcones Heights in SA City limits, 0.52 Kms

In conjunction with the improvements that are in place for the Seeling Channel (and other city drainage projects), lets add a multipurpose trail that connects to Woodlawn Lake and/or Leon Creek Trail.

Many people walk along this area for exercise. This idea would include signage telling motorists to watch for pedestrians, and enhanced crossings at busy streets. Distance markers are also required.

There is a storm drain that runs along the Dellview neighborhood, which is between West Ave. & Vance Jackson. The actual street is Wonder Parkway., 1.79 Kms

Metal workers contest to create inviting trash containers that can hold a lot. Work and materials donated by the artists - payoff is having your name on it. Current ;boutique bins are always full.
