My idea to improve this place

Utilize one of the already built rest areas with a pop-up cafe serving cold or hot drinks that could employ and train at-risk youth.

So that people could... 

So that joggers and people on the trail could get some last minute sustenance, and that youth could get some job skills.

Because I want San Antonio to be...

a place where youth thrive from all parts of town.

Pop up cafes are wonderful for local businesses that would want to sponsor them as well as for pedestrians. Plus, they instantly beautify a space overnight. http://sfpavementtoparks.sfplanning.org/divisadero_parklet.html

my bars and cafes and simple restaurants. No concept places!! for some reason, anytime someone is SA wants to start a restaurant they try to make it look like Dorsia from American Psycho. Simple!!

Under the trees and around benches I would suggest putting checkers and domino tables so that seniors can come and play. Also gardening beds and have kids at school provide the maintenance
