San Antonio River Walk Downtown

My idea to improve this place

Once a month (or more), use the money to open the downtown river walk section to kayaks and canoes by closing it off to tourist barge traffic.

So that people could... 

Explore the city in a new and exciting way; bring native San Antonians downtown; yet another reason to visit San Antonio

Because I want San Antonio to be...

Instead of a parking lot, this area should be a central plaza to the Riverwalk. You have so many great places that surround it like easy access to the river and great restaurants/bars all around.

Utilize the "non barge" riverwalk sections for things such as paddleboats, kayaking.
