My idea to improve this place

Make the grounds behind SAMA a public space (although privately owned) with gardens and utilize the existing plaza spaces there. Open late-hour restaurants/retail in under-utilized historic buildings.

So that people could... 

Have a more organic public space right by the river and 1221 apartments and make lively and interesting public spaces to be in 24/7. Should help development in River North, also. (How great would an Ethiopian restaurant be there, San Antonio needs one!)

Because I want San Antonio to be...

full of options when it comes to public spaces. And be a comfortable place to hang around no matter what time of day.

It would be great reopen Avenue A where it dead ends at 13th St near the new 1221 Apts with a shared peds/bike only path or tunnel to connect that area with the Pearl district.

In the vacant lot across from the San Antonio Museum of Art you should place paddle or pickle ball courts like in Venice, CA.

Build a world-class, Riverwalk connected, Minor League baseball stadium. Cities like Memphis and Chattanooga have had great success bringing families downtown using this approach
