My idea to improve this place
give more incentives to developers to build a high number of residential units in well designed buildings; buildings that make walking interesting.
So that people could...
make it their own and live here. There needs to be a perfect mix of uses in an area and the DT area is severely lacking residents... locals to make it feel vibrant. Once you get people living there, retail will follow, then offices will fill up again, etc.
Because I want San Antonio to be...
a success story and not just another "we tried that" story 10-15 years from now. There is no substitute for humans; no store, park or 'marker' make a city thrive.. humans do. (flickr photo by augieray )
