My idea to improve this place
Initiate a 'anti-panhandling' campaign throughout the downtown area! Bench mark cities that have taken an active approach to obliterating pan-handling from their downtown areas.
So that people could...
Enjoy their lunch, browse shops, listen to music and enjoy the outdoor cafes without the fear of being stopped for money.
Because I want San Antonio to be...
Friendly and the model for hospitality. It is impossible to walk for one block in the downtown area without being stopped by at least one pan-handler. As a city employee, it is embarassing for me to see tourists being stopped and asked for money.

Outlawing panhandling is just a bandaid fix to make you and others feel better about themselves, and it is only didplacing the problem and moving it elsewhere. The fact that there are
enough panhandlers in the city to make people uncomfortable, as there are in many other cities, says something about the city and provides an opportunity to really make a real positive change in the fabric of the community if solutions are steered away from bandaid solutions, not only that but it empowers communities and individuals to really
make a difference .

create more visible and better navigable maps on the Riverwalk. Maps should include more landmarks, NSEW directional symbols, street level exits, and nearby bus stops and b-cycle stations.
