Now available, the conference proceedings from Great Parks Great Cities London 2004.

Great Parks, Great Cities, the international forum for innovations in parks, took place in London on July 10-13, 2004. More than 350 people attended the four-day conference, together sharing a wealth of knowledge from the UK, US, Brazil, the Netherlands, Singapore, Norway, Belgium, Hong Kong, UAE and Australia. The delegates came from diverse professional backgrounds, and included policy makers, planners, public sector professionals, and developers.

Organized by Project for Public Spaces, GreenSpace and the London Parks and Green Spaces Forum, the conference focused on four themes: design, management, planning, and placemaking. Through plenary sessions, workshops, and site tours, delegates learned about public/private partnerships, what is a "great" park, and placemaking for parks.
