Isla started work for PPS in 2005 as a consultant organizing the 6th "Great Markets, Great Cities" Conference in Washington DC. The three day conference attracted 350 international market managers who attended 25+ sessions on all aspects of public market development and management as well as a day of market tours in the Washington DC and Baltimore areas. She now heads the communications and marketing efforts at PPS.

Prior to her contract with PPS, Isla assisted Urban Space Management in New York with the planning and marketing of a new Holiday Market in Columbus Circle as well as the PR, marketing, sponsorship and partnership collaboration program of the renowned Union Square Holiday Market, now in its 10th year of operation.

Before moving to New York in 2003, Isla had her own business in London, England organizing large public space events for a variety of clients. These included organisations such as Henrietta Green’s Food Lovers’ Fairs Ltd, The Moroccan National Tourist Office (Moroccan Culture Week), The Hungarian Cultural Centre (Christmas Hungarian Craft Village) and Covent Garden Market (New Year’s Eve Celebration). Her events aimed to promote the cultural aspects of her client’s countries (such as food, craft, art, fashion, music) offering culturally educational and fun events that were free for the public to attend. The majority took place on the outside piazzas of Covent Garden, a vibrant shopping and eating venue in the heart of London’s West End.

Isla was previously Events Director for Henrietta Green’s Food Lovers’ Fairs where she was responsible for organising large-scale consumer events promoting British speciality farmers and food and drink producers. In the latter part of 2002, she also assisted Henrietta Green and Covent Garden Market Management establish a regular monthly speciality food & drink market at Covent Garden.

Prior to her work in Event Management, Isla was a management consultant for nine years (for Deloitte Consulting in the UK & Canada, Safeway Stores in the UK and Morgan & Banks in the UK), specializing in “change leadership” services and the people-related considerations of major change initiatives. She was the lead researcher on “The Heart of Change: Real Life Stories of How People Change their Organizations” (2002) written by Professor John P. Kotter (Harvard) and Dan S. Cohen (Deloitte Consulting).
