Atlantic Avenue in Delray Beach is a Great Public Spaces. It has a museum and a square at one end and within four blocks to the inland waterway, it has a hotel, many restaurants, stores and a park on the inland waterway. Most of the retail is unique to Delray and there is a diverse population using the street and the public spaces. It is not too upscale with many opportunities for people of all ages to use the street. There are no food markets, but you can get bread and other small food items. Route 1 intersects with Atlantic Avenue very badly. Through traffic is given more priority than is appropiate. The result is that the intsections are dangerous and too little walk time is given to get across. as a result, pedestrians pay little attention to signal.
