Why It Works
This square, central to Cape Town, became a farmer's market in 1710 and since then has become primarily patronised by curio sellers. The market is surrounded by beautiful old buildings, some of which have been converted into hotels. Facing the market on street level is a good selection of boutiques and bistros.
