A dreary, dull building not worthy of being the City Hall of a great city.

Why It Doesn't Work

There may be many important innovations in this building, but when you see it for the first time, it is very dreary and dull. It also seems so minor a building for such a grand city. It has a terrible sunken plaza that is only good for skateboarders and skaters. We think the building should be replaced with a building worthy of being the "City Hall" of a great city. Move out or replace.

This plaza's building shows as an architecture project and not a multidisciplinary approach. The ending users are not considered. It is the architect's vision, the inside vision of that building that has all the importance. The main objective was clearly not to do an outdoor public place.

As a Londoner i have spent many a wonderful daytime and evening in this unique sunken space which encourages relaxation away from the hustle and bustle of the river walk. And acts as a mini theatre with plays, readings and films and all variety of strange events. A space of true civic value, and a space looking to the future in the same way as London. As with all great spaces, this place will improve and become more vibrant with age.
