Proposed Littleton Master Plan Online, Hearing Scheduled
November 15, 2004

LITTLETON, November 7, 2004 – A proposed new master plan, developed by the Littleton Planning Board with input from local citizens, is online at the town Web site, www.TownOfLittleton.org. The plan includes the Board’s vision for the town, some implementation ideas, and several other elements called for by State regulations. These elements are land use; natural resources; natural hazards and emergency management; historic and cultural resources; population and housing; economic development; transportation; recreation; community facilities; and utilities and public services.

A public hearing on the plan will be held at the Littleton Opera House on Tuesday, November 16, at 6:00 pm. The Opera House is located at the intersection of Main, Cottage and Union Streets, in downtown Littleton. According to Bob May, chairman of the Planning Board, “The public hearing will the last opportunity for citizens to question and comment on the new plan prior to a Planning Board vote to adopt or not.”

The new master plan has been developed in conjunction with New Hampshire-based Jeffrey H. Taylor Associates, a professional planning firm operated by the former state planning department head, Jeff Taylor. Master plan work has been funded under a TCSP planning grant from the Federal Highway Administration that also looked at design ideas in advance of the reconstruction of Littleton’s Main Street.
