    Dear Mr. Kent,

I caught your lecture last evening on UCTV.
After having lived in Rome, Italy, I went into culture shock when I came to Los Angeles. Thank God for people like you who care about creating places for people to meet, walk etc. People are desparate for such ‘places.’ You mentioned Columbia Street in Brooklyn being widened. I grew up on Columbia street in the projects of Red Hook (when it was a nice place to live in the forties. I can’t imagine what it looks like now.

    Good Luck and much success.

    Please help San Diego
I know you are being asked to assist the citizens groups in San Diego to avoid yet another public disaster at the Navy Broadway Complex being masterminded by Doug Manchester.

The people have spoken and continue to speak but the feelings of powerlessness are strong in the air.

Woudl appreciate any suggestions to move the powers that be toward a wonderful public, arts space for our waterfront.

Think Syndey Opera Houe meets Central Park. Thank out of the box. Think civic pride.

    Thank you.

    making a town dynamic
I am living in what was recently a remote part of the Florida Panhandle and am watching the big developers swoop in with so called public input forums – trying to sell the simple fishermen on 10 story high rises —because it’ll enable them to see more water front than if they build a lot more structures at only 2 -3 stories….I stumbled on your incredibly informative/inspiring lecture on UCTV…and need to get your book to give our city planner! The city of Carrabelle is making steps to work with all the city owned properties to make something dynamic …so that we have a plan of our own and don’t have to wait for someone else to come in and try to mold us into what’s profitable for them…..I feel much more confident that we CAN make something really cool happen here, keeping the people in mind and creating attractive places to gather….I want to get everyone down to the water front for sunset!!!!!
