You know what sounds great after three conferences in two weeks? Two more intensive in-house training courses one week after the next. (No really, you should try it sometime.) In all seriousness, we had two amazing groups of Placemakers in our office networking and learning about Placemaking: Making it Happen and How to Create Successful Public Markets. Needless to say we at PPS had a great time meeting everyone and talking about your work. Food was devoured, public spaces surveyed (and we may or may not have had a little too much to drink at the cocktail hours). We laughed, we cried, and we learned how to apply Placemaking to our projects around the world. And if you didn’t make it, maybe we’ll see you next year?

Now that that’s over, we’ve got Barcelona on the brain and apparently the New York Times does too because they put out this glowing manifesto on the city and its array of public markets - just in time for us to start ramping up our efforts for the 9th International Public Markets Conference in Barcelona this coming March! (Thanks for doing the heavy lifting for us, Times!) We couldn’t be happier to have our conference in one of the best examples of a market city the world has to offer, where the majority of produce is bought at markets daily and where residents are no more than 10 minutes away from a market at any time. So if you’re looking for the mother of all markets conferences then get your tote bags ready to register December 1st!

Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to go celebrate getting 500 followers on our Instagram. (#itsthelittlethings)

To keep up with all this (and more) be sure to sign up for our newsletter and follow us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram for Placemaking news from around the world and an inside peak into things here at PPS.
