PRIVATE BUSINESS OWNER; LOCATION: NORTHWEST DETROIT. I SELL FRUIT, FLOWERS AND VEGETABLES (MAINLY EXOTIC/EXTREMELY HOT/ RARE CHILI PEPPERS) FROM MY BACKYARD WHERE MY FAMILY HAS LIVED FOR MORE THAN 46 YEARS. PEOPLE FROM ALL AROUND DETROIT MAKE THEIR 'FRESH' PRODUCE PURCHASES FROM THIS LOCATION. UNFORTUNATELY, ME, NOR A LOT OF MY 'YOUNGER' CUSTOMERS CANNOT TAKE 'FULL ADVANTAGE' OF WHAT I'AM PRODUCING (FRESH, SUPER-AFFORDABLE FOOD), BECAUSE I CANNOT ACCEPT SNAP/WIC BENEFIT CARDS, OR THEY DON'T HAVE THE NECESSARY FUNDS. I WENT THROUGH THE APPLICATION PROCESS.........DENIED BY LOCAL BRANCH OF UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE (USDA). I'M NOT GOING TO QUIT!!!!!!!! I WILL KEEP TRYING!!!!!!! I MAINTAIN HALF OF AN EMPTY CITY LOT NEXT TO MY FAMILY RESIDENCE AS A COMMUNITY GARDEN LOCATED ON THE CORNER OF KENTUCKY AND PILGRIM STREETS. THIS WILL BE MY FOURTH YEAR IN PRIVATE BUSINESS, SIXTH YEAR MAINTAINING A COMMUNITY GARDEN ON KENTUCKY AVENUE; 3RD AT PRESENT LOCATION. BOTH SITES ARE VERY PRODUCTIVE. BOTH RECEIVE 'ALL THAT I HAVE TO GIVE'!!!!!!! I WOULD LIKE THE LOCAL BRANCH OF THE USDA TO COME SEE WHAT IS HAPPENING HERE AND WITNESS THE BEAUTY, THE LOVE, THE NEED/CONNECTION THAT I AND THIS (LOW-INCOME/FOOD DESERT) COMMUNITY HAVE. AFTER THIS GROWING SEASON I WILL ASK THE NATIONAL ORGANIC PROGRAM (NOP) TO INSPECT THE LAND THAT I PRODUCE ON. I ACTIVELY PRACTICE THE RULES AND REGULATIONS OF THE (NOP). I DOWNLOAD, PRINT, 3-HOLE PUNCH, PUT IN BINDERS AND CONSUME ALL THE WONDERFUL WRITTEN MATERIAL FROM EVERY MAJOR FEDERAL AGRICULTURAL ARM. IF I'M NOT WHAT USDA IS LOOKING FOR CONCERNING SNAP/WIC, 'FARM TO TABLE', 'KNOW YOUR FARMER, KNOW YOUR FOOD', WHO IS? AT THE LEAST, COME VIEW WHAT 'PARADISE' LOOKS LIKE? THE NAME OF MY COMPANY IS LARRY'S CAPSAICIN SENSATIONS. I CAN BE REACHED BY PHONE AT 313-397-1870, WHICH ALSO SERVES AS A FAX. MY E-MAIL ADDRESS IS AS FOLLOWS: LARRYWILLIAMS0924@YAHOO.COM. LOVE TO ALL!!!!!
